Mums Card

fmc_BalloonsUpdate_tn Mums Card has been developed by Tanya Duncan, combining her professional and Mum experiences to make a product that all Mums would find useful. As the Mum of 2 young boys, ever practical Tanya saw a need for Mums Card through personal experience.

Having kids, right from their first breath, is a whole new experience for all parents. Obviously the child itself is the main change, but there is also the people – suddenly there are so many new people in your life. It really starts at Mothers Group where you meet a whole lot of new Mums, then the park, then playgroup, then childcare and on and on. Each new stage or place your kids go you meet new people at a similar stage in life and often with similar interests.

“To be honest names are not my forte – add a couple of pregnancy mushy brain effects, kids running and crawling in different directions (usually a dog to keep an eye on as well) and I find peoples names just don’t tend to stick. It also gets a bit embarrassing once you have spoken to someone a couple of weeks in a row at Playgroup or Childcare and you want to organise to see them outside of that environment or follow up on some information that they had and you have to re-ask their name. If everyone had a Mums Card it would make this exchange of personal information so much easier.”

lr_mumscard_photocard3Tanya’s professional background in marketing, communications, design and websites has made taking Mums Card from a vague idea to a stylish, fun, professional product possible.

“Before my first child I was pretty sure that I would be back at work marketing events within 3 months – the reality has turned out to be quite different. Almost 2.5 years later and I have a second son and love working from home. Hearing the kids laughing and playing in the other room while I tap away on the computer, and having my working day punctuated with visits from my little people wanting a cuddle or to carefully transport the paper from the printer tray to me is just fantastic.”

“All the designs that I have gone with for the Mums Card ranges have been based on what inspires my kids, or designs that I would like to see my kids photos on.”
