My boys love it when the go to Nannies house and get to play with her toys…many of them being the toys that we had a kids. There is one set in particular with a ute, work men, horses and motor bikes that keep them entertained for ages. It wasn’t until recently that I found out the name of this toy – PLAYMOBIL - what a toy!
The reason for my naivety about the brand was that it is not in very many toy shops, in fact until last weekend I do not remember ever seeing it in a toy shop. Then I visited the toy wonderland of The Walrus and the Carpenter. Located at 302 Rathdowne St, North Carlton, The Walrus and the Carpenter is one of the most exciting toy shops that I have stepped foot into. The range, diversity and quality of toys that they stock is first rate, and I was particularly impressed with the entire wall of Playmobil!
Now there really is something for everyone in the incredibly vast range of Playmobil – girls, boys, cowboys, pirates, princesses, boats, cars, planes, cranes, horses, workmen, Mummys, doctors, nurses, fairies – you name it, it’s there!
The price of Playmobil is a little hefty compared to some of the stuff available from Target or Kmart, but the quality and caliber of the toy is the reason – they are fantastic in all respects.
Most of the sets that I picked up recommended from ages 4+, though my boys at just 2 and 3 are really enjoying them… we have the racing cars, they are gorgeous and the boys are having a ball with them.
Now that we have found where you can buy Playmobil I think The Walrus and the Carpenter may be a regular shopping haunt for us when it is Birthday or Christmas present time!

My kids have discovered playmobil and love it!
It is soooo expensive to buy out here. You can buy it from a company in the UK http://www.jadlamracing.co.uk and they ship it to Australia!!!!
We just brought the entire circus set and the entire roman arena stuff cheaper than one item out here including the postage!!!!!
